Have a Hearty Weekend….

September 29, was World Heart Day. Celebrated each year to remind us how important that little powerful organ (our body’s power house) is. Each year, the World Health Federation reminds us that Cardio Vascular Disease, is still the world’s number 1 kill. You think it can’t be that good? You are absolutely correct: it is that Bad. RedyMoney encourages you all, that as you look forward to this weekend, you will do something your heart will thank you for.

Power to your heart is power to your body. Eating whatever fruits and vegetables are in season(ergo, Pumpkin for Autumn) and to control your salt intake, are two basic ways to kick start the transformation to a healthier diet and ultimately, a healthier heart.

It is the last day of September, at this time, we have officially lived through 75% of the year. We encourage you to reflect on all your achievements, successes and lesson learnt, to constantly motivate yourself to close 2016 on a high note. Goodbyes are inevitable, we say them each day, month and year; RedyMoney just hopes each day, month, year, leaves a footprint on your heart, that helps you to smile. The footprint are loving memories, fun, laughter, peace and all good things: this too is good for your heart. So, this weekend, do them in part, cut down on the salt and laugh a little extra this weekend.

RedyMoney Interesting Autumn Fact: Each fall, the black-capped chickadee’s tiny hippocampus enlarges by 30%, which enables it to remember where it collected seeds in different spots in trees and on the ground.

See any of these in your neck of the woods?

Thanks to NaturalHealthyConcepts.com for this reminder.

Have a healthy and laughing weekend RedyMoney family!!!

Happy Monday!!!

It is the first Monday of Fall and the last Monday of September. Talk about ‘no day is much like the next” ( or any other). RedyMoney welcomes you to another week, that we hope is productive and a source of motivation.

Question: How did you spend your weekend?  Did you spend the time working, lazing about in the Fall weather, take the kids for a picnic or out collecting Fall leaves?  Only if you found the weather agreeable. However your weekend was spent, RedyMoney hopes it had special moments of laughter, joy and a sense of contentment.

To keep your family and neighbors healthy, it is important to keep on the lookout for any recalled product. Search your cupboards to see if you had purchased any of these canned mixed vegetables. If you purchased any of the culprit cans, make haste in getting them out your cupboards and into the trash. It may seem like your hard-earner money wasted, but that will not compare to what you may have to spend should this be consumed.

And if you or your neighbors can benefit from the seasonal hiring that will be undertaken by Macy.  Come out in your groves on September 30, and spread the word while you are at it.

Embrace Mondays as opportunities. Opportunities to start over, improve on what you have already built and strengthen what you have invested in.

As your Monday comes to a close: remember to end your work day on a high and productive note. Save one task that you usually enjoy doing to be the last one (unless its urgent), so you finish your day with a sense of satisfaction and motivation for the next day.

Monday trivia: what is the oldest county in Alabama?

First Friday of Fall 2016…

Fall has officially arrived and though you may yet to see the leaves change color, it is officially here. Yesterday, you may not have noticed that in some cities, there were a few extra seconds, here and there, signalling the effects of the Fall Equinox. Well whilst we are in the season, RedyMoney says:  get out your Fall gear!!!

True enough, yesterday was the first day of Fall, but today is the first Fri-day of Fall. #Lol.

And to celebrate the new season, we toast to new beginnings, new growth, new blessings, new experiences and new goals. One of which is to keep all of us healthy and fit to enjoy the season. RedyMoney encourages that a change in season, means the fruits  and vegetable, along with it. Support fruits and vegetables in season, give your body an opportunity to taste something new. Also the time is cooler (hopefully), so maybe we can give our body a chance to appreciate the coll temperatures. If you walk a little less briskly, you give your body a change of pace as well as your mind, a chance to take in its new surroundings. Kind of like a refresh button. And there is much that can please the senses in the nature of Fall.

RedyMoney thought this would be a fitting context for the season.

We send you all into the first weekend of Autumn with just an open mind, ready to be filled with the beauty and mystery of Autumn. We leave you with John Donne‘s quote: “No spring nor summer’s beauty hath such grace, as I have seen in one Autumnal face….” (Elegy IX: The Autumnal)

Have a beautiful weekend RedyMoney family.

September and the upcoming school year

September means a lot of different things to many different people. For most it means the start of a new academic year, their time to be a new person, be better and get the grades you really want. For others heading off to the college far away from home it’s a complete fresh start and the beginning of a new chapter of their lives.

RedyMoney has some advice about five things you should definitely pack for college:
🔹An extension lead or two

Let’s be honest, most of us use our phones or some sort of electrical device before we go to bed and as soon as we wake up. At least if your socket is in an awkward position behind the desk you have easy access, also if you’re sharing your dorm room you’re not restricted to just two or four plugs.
🔹A blanket

May seem self explanatory that you bring a blanket even if you’re going to a college in California. However when you go to college and are exposed to many people from different areas you can get ill, that blanket can become useful or if you’re feeling a little cold.
🔹A weekly planner/ calendar

Staying organised is pretty important, not just so you don’t miss your lectures and classes but noting your weekly expenses to see where your money goes. Hopefully your deadlines won’t surprise you when they come along.
🔹Enough clothes/underwear to only do laundry every other week.

Laundry in your halls may be free or they may cost you quite a bit, having enough clothes and underwear to do your laundry every other week is significantly cheaper. Plus if there is an occasion like flooding in your laundry room, you won’t be out of clean underwear!
🔹 A power bank

Very helpful when you realise you forgot to charge your phone or iPad and have a full day at college.
We also some recommendations of power snacks during students learning fuelled day:
🔹Peanut butter and banana rice cakes (a good dosage of fiber and protein)

🔹Honey, almond butter and strawberry sandwiches.
🔹Peanut butter Apple nachos (instead of actual nachos, sliced apples drizzled in peanut butter and the occasional chocolate drops)

🔹Chocolate, peanut butter and banana smoothie.

🔹Baked salami(or pepperoni) and white bean dip (1 garlic head, 1 can white beans, 1 tbs lemon juice, salt, pepper, 1 tbs olive oil and 2/3 tbs warm water)

🔹Vegetable sticks with avocado dill (1 avocado, 1 cup plain yogurt, 1/2 tbs dill, 1/2 tsp celery salt).
Here at RedyMoney we hope the new academic year brings success for all!
